Saints Open Winter Court Sport Season Against Owls

The Thomas Aquinas Saints are in mid-season form as they begin the winter season in NorWOSSA court sports.

The Saints played their first games of the regular season yesterday down in Rainy River and came away with three wins and a loss.

The T.A. boys basketball teams were dominant as the senior squad hammered the Owls 81-39.

Nick Zroback led the offense with 22 points.

In junior boys action, the Saints cruised to a 61-28 victory.

Ben Libitka led the way with 14 points.

The Thomas Aquinas senior girls volleyball team also won in convincing fashion taking the Owls down in three straight sets, while the T.A. junior girls suffered the lone loss of the day falling three sets to two.

The Saints are back on the road today to Atikokan.

Meanwhile, Beaver Brae's court sport teams finally will get to see some action.

The Broncos welcome the Fort Frances Muskies to town after having their season opener cancelled on Tuesday because of weather.
