The President of the Ontario Federation of Labour is speaking out about how a Conservative leader would affect the minimum wage.

Speaking at the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association Annual General Meeting, Chris Buckley stated that a PC government would reverse efforts made to achieve pay equity.

"I can tell you one thing that is a fact, every PC candidate that was heading into the weekend election said they would stall the increase to $15 an hour come this January. We have to ensure that doesn't happen."

Buckley adds that Bill-148 is beneficial for everyone.

"We have to be vigilant because we not only did this for today's workers, we did this for the young people that you teach everyday. We did this to give our young people some hope, some optimism that they are going to have a bright future."

The OECTA AGM took place in Toronto.
