TransCanada's move to scrap the Energy East Pipeline project was strictly a business decision.

The Liberal member doesn't think the Trudeau government's climate change strategies have anything to do with it.
"I don't think big companies or small companies make decisions based on the political flavor of the day. We've always had a very robust environmental assessment process. We've had one of the strongest environmental processes in the world, and I don't think that has changed."
Nault says the government has already shown it is not opposed to pipeline projects having approved two earlier this year out west.
