The Kenora Police Services Board could be expanding.
The provincial government is introducing changes to the Police Act that would require police board's to include representation from each community it serves.
Acting inspector Shaun Crabbe says that means they could need reps from Sioux Narrows and Minaki as well as Kenora.
"That's still going through the legislative process at Queen's Park. That is one of the proposed sections in those amendments, to have one board per detachment. Obviously that has to go through a lot of again legislative process before it is brought into law."
Chair of the Kenora Police Board Andrew Poirier has already been asking the city to increase the number of local members on their board.
Currently there is only three.
