Kenora will have to wait and see if there is a new arena coming to town.
That was the consensus among council after Josh Nelson,Tourism and Recreation Services Division Lead, proposed the idea of twinning the current arena.
While most of the councillors see the twinning as a great idea, Mayor Canfield even said he thinks the arena will eventually happen, they agreed the funding wasn't adequate just yet for the project.
Councillors Smith, Goss and Reynard all said that at this time it was too big of a tax burden for Kenora residents.
For now council will deliberate about the proposition and council will officially vote on the arena construction on July 17th at their noon council meeting.
The idea to build another arena has been on the agenda since 2011.
