Ontario's doctors are giving their support to a tentative agreement between the Ontario Medical Association and the province that allows for future disputes to be resolved through binding arbitration.

The O-M-A says 65 per cent of doctors supported the framework agreement agreed to last month.

Binding arbitration had been a sticking point in the two sides trying striking a new contract.

OMA President Dr. Shawn Whatley says the agreement provides for a fair, independent process and prevents the government from taking unilateral actions.
