The Kenora District Services Board has been given the go ahead to look at a solution to
the on-going problem delivering non-urgent land ambulence transfers.
Chair of the board Barry Baltessen says KDSB has been given some funding from the province to look at some
"Develop sort of an anciliary patient transfer transportation system. Something to augment the emergency system that we've got. When pull and abulence to do an non-emergency transfer, they are sometimes out of the district for long periods of time".
Baltessen says while some Service Board's in the region had decided not to do any more non-emergent patient transfers, he says that's not their intention.
