City To Spend Over A Million Dollars On Bridge Repairs

The City of Kenora is continuing to focus it's infrastructure dollars on bridge repairs.

The city will be spending 1.1 million dollars over the next three years to fix up three aging structures.

That includes the Darlington Bay Bridge, Norlen Bridge in Jaffray Melick and Bay Street Overpass.

Mayor Dave Canfiled says that doesn't include the replacement of the Coker Road bridge.

"I'm hoping that this can be a model wooden bridge.  And FedNor is very interested in being involved in a wooden bridge.  There is a lot of work involved".

Canfield says they are hoping to get additional funding to repair the Coker Road Baily Bridge.
