A tentative step towards a new contract between Ontario's doctors and the province.

The Wynne government and the Ontario Medical Association have reached a deal concerning binding arbitration, or the ability to involve a third party to help resolve disputes in contract talks.

The President of the organization representing Ontario's doctors says if its members finalize the deal, it'll be in effect for all future negotiations with the province.

The OMA has been without a contract for three years.
